Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2023 / Kabar/. Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic Atyr Abdrakhmatova met with US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Lesslie Viguerie, the Ombudsman's Institute reported.
The parties exchanged views and assessments regarding the current situation with respect for human rights in Kyrgyzstan, especially in the field of freedom of speech, gender equality, creating conditions for the implementation of socio-economic rights, regardless of social status, gender, citizenship, etc.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the fulfillment by the authorities of Kyrgyzstan of international obligations to ensure guarantees for the independence of the Ombudsman of the Kyrgyz Republic and the need for all state bodies to strictly adhere to these obligations.
