Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2020 / Kabar /. The Kyrgyz-Pakistani business forum "Rethinking the Silk Road: Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan in an era of interconnectedness" was held in Bishkek on Dec. 10-11, 2020 with the participation of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Investments Protection and Promotion of Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science said that, as part of the business forum a round table was held on Dec. 11, 2020, co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Lahore Center for Peace Study from the Pakistani side.
The main goal of this event was to further strengthen and develop cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan in the field of education and science, the report said.
In his welcoming speech, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Omurov noted that in the context of scientific and technological progress, the rapid development of new technologies, education undoubtedly acquires strategic importance, and expressed hope for fruitful and mutually beneficial results of the round table.
Thus, following the results of the round table, the following Memorandums and Agreements on cooperation in the field of education and science were concluded, namely:
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and Lahore University of Medical Sciences (Pakistan) on cooperation in the field of education and science;
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and the Lahore Center for Peace Studies;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of education between International University of Kyrgyzstan and the University of Medical Sciences (Lahore, Pakistan);
- Memorandum of Understanding between Kyrgyz Economic University and the Lahore Center for Peace Studies;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science between Eurasian International Medical University and Lahore University;
- Agreement on cooperation in the field of education and science between Eurasian International Medical University and the University of South Asia (Lahore, Pakistan).
The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, the Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan and other representatives of the state bodies of the country.
The business forum was held at the initiative of the Kyrgyz Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Lahore Center for Peace Studies (Lahore, Pakistan).
