Kyrgyz Parliament accepts resignation of National Bank Chairman Abdygulov

Bishkek, Sept. 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . The Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) accepted the resignation of Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Tolkunbek Abdygulov.

During a meeting of the Parliament on Wednesday, Abdygulov told MPs that he was invited by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to become an advisor at the International Monetary Fund on behalf of Kyrgyzstan.

62 Kyrgyz deputies voted for the resignation, while 4 – against.

Tolkunbek Abdygulov, 45, headed the Kyrgyz National Bank from 2014 to August 2017 and left his post after being elected First Deputy Prime Minister.

However, in December of the same year, he returned to the position of chairman of the National Bank.
