Bishkek, April 21, 2021. / Kabar /. Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh today, on April 21, at a parliamentary meeting, approved in the first reading the draft law "On a specialized administrative region in Issyk-Kul, including a tourist and entertainment complex."
According to the bill Kyrgyz Parliament approves bill on legalization of casinos in Issyk-Kul Oblast.
A total of 68 deputies voted for and 23 against.
According to the plan, several hotels and casinos are planned to be built on a plot of more than 1,000 hectares. The project assumes that gambling will be carried out only in this territory, and citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic will not be allowed to them. The initiators of the bill are deputies Baktybek Turusbekov, Dastan Dzhumabekov.
Gambling business has been prohibited in Kyrgyzstan since 2012. Then the parliament of Kyrgyzstan adopted a law that completely prohibits gambling activities in the country.
