Bishkek, May 12, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, May 12, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction are considering the report of Prime Minister on the work of the Government for 2019, the press service of the Parliament said.

At the meeting, First Deputy PM Kubatbek Boronov, voicing the main socio-economic parameters, provided detailed information on the work of the executive body in the field of construction, transport and communications.

Deputies asked a number of questions, in particular, MP Kaldarbek Baimuratov noted the need to increase the construction of kindergartens. "Whatever regions we go to, all meetings with voters discuss an acute shortage of kindergartens," he said.

Kubatek Boronov said the construction of 55 social facilities was completed in 2019, including 48 schools, four gyms and three kindergartens. "These figures refer only to those facilities that have been completed, but construction work on other social facilities is continuing," he noted.

MP Tynchtykbek Konushbayev expressed outrage over the lack of detailed information on the sums, allocated for the construction and overhaul of each facility separately.

He noted about 110 construction and capital repair objects were completed in 2019. In this regard, the parliamentarian demanded a report on the spending of funds on each of them.

Boronov said a detailed report will be sent to the MP soon, reporting that the total amount of construction and overhaul amounted to KGS 6.2 billion.

MP Konushbayev also drew attention to the completion date of the Bishkek-Kara-Balta highway.

Responding to a question, Transport and Roads Minister Janat Beishenov said construction work is continuing, but problems have arisen with the arrival in Kyrgyzstan of 35 key specialists from China due to coronavirus situation.

Deputy PM Boronov added prior to the coronavirus situation, the deadline for completing the construction of this road was six months late.

The work of the Committee meeting is continuing in question-answer format.
