Bishkek, Oct. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and the Rules of Procedure of the Jogorku Kenesh approved a draft law to postpone parliamentary elections.
A group of MPs initiated a bill to terminate some legal acts of the constitutional law on the election of the president and deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Now this draft law will be considered at the Jogorku Kenesh meeting.
The authors of the bill propose to postpone the parliamentary elections to spring.
Earlier, Kyrgyzstan's Central Elections Commission announced Dec. 20 as the day of elections to the Jogorku Kenesh.
After Oct. 4 parliamentary elections in the republic, some political parties, who lost the elections, organized protests on Oct.5 5 demanding to annul the election results.
As a result of clashes between police and protesters 1 (man, 19) died, over 1000 people injured.
The CEC annulled on Oct. 6 results of the elections.
