Bishkek, Apr. 15, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, Apr. 15, the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) heard the information of the Government of Kyrgyzstan about the ongoing work to combat COVID-19.
In the course of the discussion, the MPs outlined the issues of ensuring food security, uninterrupted spring field work in the regions, ensuring adequate working conditions and individual means of protection of medical personnel and law enforcement officers.
Proposals were made to gradually introduce measures to resume the work of individual business entities in the country. The issue of the return of Kyrgyz citizens from third countries in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic was particularly identified.
As a result of the discussion, the deputies adopted two draft resolutions of the parliament.
In particular:
- On ensuring food security, uninterrupted spring field work in 2020, as well as measures to ensure adequate working conditions and individual means of protection of persons involved in the prevention of coronavirus infection, and the establishment of additional guarantees and compensation to employees of medical organizations, law enforcement officials and other security agencies in an emergency situation in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- On the ongoing work of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on the return of Kyrgyz citizens from foreign countries in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MPs took note of the information of the Government.
These draft decisions are submitted following a joint session of the Jogorku Kenesh Committees on International Affairs, Defense and Security and on Law and Order, Fight Against Crime and Combating Corruption.
