Kyrgyz parliament speaker Kanat Isayev resigns to run in presidential elections

Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2020 / Kabar /. Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Kanat Isayev has resigned. He announced his decision during the parliament meeting on Wednesday.

He explained his decision that the Kyrgyzstan faction nominated him as a candidate for the presidential elections.

“Therefore, I need to resign as speaker in order to participate in the elections,” Isayev said.

Kanat Isayev is the leader of the Kyrgyzstan party.

Isayev has been elected a speaker of the parliament on Oct. 13, 2020.

Presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan will be held on Jan. 10, 2021.
