Kyrgyz Parliament speaker meets with head of Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia

Bishkek, Feb. 23, 2022 . / Kabar / . Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov met on Tuesday with Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia, head of the Russian Muftis Council.

The meeting was held as part of an official visit of the Kyrgyz Parliament's delegation to Russia, the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh reported.

During the meeting, issues of development and strengthening ties between religious and educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, implementation of effective policy in the religious sphere, and improving the quality of secular and religious education were discussed. The sides noted the common problems in the religious sphere, the lack of attention to which can lead to negative consequences.

The Kyrgyz speaker informed his interlocutor of the measures taken on these issues and assured him that joint work with the Russian Administration of Muslims would be strengthened in this direction.

In turn, Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin emphasized that the main priority should be peace and harmony in society, and Russian Muslims invariably stand by their co-religionists in Kyrgyzstan, offering prayers for development and prosperity of the country, for a beautiful future of Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the need for further interaction on these topics.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation toured the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.
