Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2023 / Kabar/. The parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Shakiev got acquainted with the activities of the Hyundai Motor Company plant in the city of Asan as part of an official visit to the Republic of Korea.
Hyundai Motor Company is the world's largest car manufacturer in South Korea. In addition to cars, trains, military equipment and various industrial equipment are produced here.
Introducing the production process, Senior Vice President of the plant Lee Ki So noted that Hyundai Motor Company is making positive efforts to promote the transition of the world society to clean energy through the use of hydrogen energy, which is distinguished by its efficiency.
During the conversation, Nurlanbek Shakiev noted the successful work of the company's center in Bishkek. “Cars made in the Republic of Korea are in great demand in Kyrgyzstan due to their high quality and affordable prices. Therefore, we are interested in expanding existing cooperation and implementing joint projects,” he said. Along with this, he urged to consider the possibility of opening one of the company's branches in Kyrgyzstan, as well as building a plant.
In turn, the representative of the company, Lee Ki So, emphasized the importance of the voiced proposal and added that appropriate work will be carried out in this direction.
The production facility in Asan, which is recognized as one of the three largest factories owned by the company, covers an area of 32,000 square meters and employs 4,000 people. At the same time, 90% of the work is automated and 1,100 cars are produced per day. The initial cost of new cars ranges from 10 thousand to 150 thousand dollars. Such plants, in addition to Korea, were built in six countries of the world.
