Nurlanbek Shakiev congratulated Kim Kwang-jae on the beginning of his diplomatic activity in Kyrgyzstan. "I am confident that as an experienced ambassador you will help to bring bilateral relations to a new level," he said.
The speaker also focused on the current state of relations between the states. "We pay special attention to developing the achieved level of cooperation with South Korea. In particular, it is necessary to focus on expanding political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, and implement joint investment projects," he said.
In addition, Nurlanbek Shakiev noted that after being elected as the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, one of his first visits was to the Republic of Korea. He also focused on measures to deepen inter-parliamentary dialogue, drawing attention to the successful holding of the inter-parliamentary forum "Central Asia + Korea", and recalled the invitation of the chairman of the National Assembly of Korea to visit Kyrgyzstan on an official visit, which he voiced at the last meeting in Ashgabat.
"Bilateral meetings contribute to the expansion of cooperation through a broad discussion of issues necessary for the development of partnership. In this regard, we must regularly organize working trips. Thus, recently the head of our country Sadyr Zhaparov made an official visit to the Republic of Korea, where important interstate agreements were reached," said Nurlanbek Shakiev. The speaker, touching upon the activities of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, which operates in more than 50 countries around the world, noted that this agency also provides support for a project related to increasing the digital potential of the Jogorku Kenesh. "We have great potential for further expansion of cooperation. Kyrgyzstan is interested in developing partnership relations with the Republic of Korea in the fields of mining, tourism and energy," he added.
In turn, Kim Kwang-jae briefly informed about the current political situation in Korea and added that, despite the current situation, interstate relations and joint projects continue on an ongoing basis.
In addition, he spoke about upcoming plans within the framework of his diplomatic mission. "Kyrgyzstan is one of the priority countries in Korea's external relations. We are ready to further develop the established cooperation, closely cooperate in the field of healthcare, education, migration," the ambassador said.
