Bishkek, Oct. 14, 2024. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Shakiev is in Turkmenistan for an official visit, the press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported.
At the international airport of Ashgabat, Shakiev was met by Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Gakhryman Rozyev.
Within the framework of the official visit, the speaker will take part in the second meeting of heads of parliaments of Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea. Such a forum, organized in the 5 + 1 format, was first held in the Republic of Korea last year.
The regular meeting in Ashgabat will continue with an official visit, as part of which Nurlanbek Shakiev will hold a number of high-level talks. He is expected to discuss issues related to the development of Kyrgyz-Turkmen cooperation, as well as consider proposals to expand inter-parliamentary ties.
The parliamentary delegation headed by the speaker includes deputies Daniyar Tolonov, Zhanarbek Akaev, Ruslanbek Zhakyshov and Jalolidin Nurbaev.
