Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2024. / Kabar /. On November 21, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev took part in the regular meeting of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported that the meeting discussed the implementation of decisions related to the expansion of interaction between the Commonwealth member countries, including those related to inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Along with this, proposals for a plan of events dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War were considered.
In addition, the meeting considered the issue of electing the chairman of the Council. Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, was elected to this position. The Kyrgyz speaker is expected to take part in and deliver a report at the 57th plenary session of the CIS IPA today.
