Bishkek, May 5, 2020./Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) Dastanbek Dzhumabekov congratulated people of Kyrgyzstan on Constitution Day.
According to the Parliament's press service, the speaker's congratulations say:
"Dear compatriots!
Dear citizens of sovereign Kyrgyzstan!
On behalf of the Jogorku Kenesh, I congratulate you on May 5 - Constitution Day of the Kyrgyz Republic! Freedom is the main value of our people, the sacred heritage of our ancestors. After the declaration of independence in 1993, in accordance with historical and democratic values, the Basic Law of the country was adopted, which laid the foundation for the development of the new state and created conditions to determine its future.
However, it is no secret that until 2010, due to the selfishly contradictory policy of the authorities, the Constitution underwent a number of changes to the benefit of the ruling elite. But our freedom-loving people overthrew that power twice, and finally elected the lawful people's power.
Anyway, the day of adoption of the first Constitution remains one of the most important in the history of Kyrgyzstan, because the Basic Law of the country, adopted 27 years ago, is the first step that proclaimed the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Dear Kyrgyzstanis!
I once again congratulate you on the Day of Constitution adoption and wish the country unity and peace. I urge every citizen to observe the laws and work for the prosperity of our country".
