Bishkek, Jan. 14, 2022 . / Kabar / . Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament Talant Mamytov received on Friday Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries Mehmet Süreyya Er, the press service of the Parliament said.
The sides discussed strengthening relations between Turkic speaking states and developing inter-parliamentary relations within the Parliamentary Assembly.
First, Speaker Mamytov congratulated his interlocutor on assuming the position of TurkPA Secretary General and wished him success in this responsible position. The Kyrgyz speaker also spoke about the results of the 2021 parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan.
"The 7th convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh will make every effort to further expand inter-parliamentary relations within the TurkPA," the speaker emphasized.
He also noted that this year Kyrgyzstan is planning to host the Assembly Council and the 11th plenary session of the TurkPA, adding that active efforts are being made to prepare for this significant event.
In turn, Mehmet Süreyya Er indicated that his first visit in 2022 was paid to Kyrgyzstan.
"I hope that we will continue to work closely with the new convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh under your chairmanship to strengthen ties between Turkic speaking states. We intend to further develop political-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation within the framework of inter-parliamentary ties. Your support in this direction is very important," the Secretary General of the Assembly said.
