Kyrgyz passport ranks 76th in new Passport Index

Bishkek, Feb. 4, 2019. /Kabar/. Foreign passport of a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic is on the 76th position in the ranking of the most influential documents of the world in 2019. This is evidenced by data in the new Passport Index, published annually by Henley & Partners. The Index analyzes visa rules for more than 200 countries of the world, the press service of the State Registration Service (SRS) of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Compared to last year's indicator, Kyrgyzstan has not changed its position and still holds the 76th position. As for the neighbors of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan’s passport is on the 67th position. Uzbekistan passport is slightly lower in position than a domestic one — it stands 80th. The passport of Tajikistan is on the same place.

Japan leads in the ranking of passports by Henley & Partners. Singapore and South Korea are one position behind, and France and Germany close the top three, they are in third place.

It should be noted that these indicators can be improved with the introduction of documents of a new type, as this will positively affect the image of the state and contribute to the simplified regime for obtaining visas and visits to foreign countries.

To date, dor the purposes of ensuring safety and combat the falsification of travel documents of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, the SRS is introducing electronic passports for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic (ePassport) according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Their main differences from the current ones is a built-in chip and a polycarbonate page with the personal data of the owner, as well as the use of 2 printing methods – laser engraving and inkjet printing. The security of new passports will be provided by about 40 security features. There is also an increase in the number of visa pages up to 50 for the convenience of citizens often traveling on business trips and travel, in other cases there will be 34 pages. New biometric passports will allow to speed up automatic authentication and identify verification at border control points.
