Bishkek, Apr. 19, 2020. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev held a meeting on the economy and the scenario of budget adjustment for 2020, the press service of the Government reported Saturday.
The head of the government stressed that the current situation in the country due to the emergency / state of emergency, as well as the current instability in the oil and currency markets of Kyrgyzstan's main trading partners, requires urgent measures to stabilize the economy and ensure a balanced and stable budget of the country.
During the meeting, issues related to the economy, budget revenue forecasts and measures taken by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to support small and medium businesses, as well as the most sensitive problems in the economy were discussed.
Abylgaziev noted the need for operational improvement of amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Republican Budget of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2020 and the forecast for 2021-2022”.
He also stressed the need for detailed economic analysis and the preparation of forecasts on the possible amount of budget revenue loss due to the emergency / state of emergency in the country, as well as the provision of deferred tax payments in the framework of the government's anti-crisis plan to support the economic sectors and businesses affected by the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
At the same time, the prime minister discussed with the government members the optimization of the expenditure, taking into account the state's social commitments towards the population, noting that the social commitments will be fulfilled in time and in full.
At the same time, the meeting participants discussed the process of negotiations with international donor organizations and financial institutions on the further support for the budget, and implementation of measures to combat coronavirus infection.
