Bishkek, May 3, 2020. /Kabar/. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev held a meeting to discuss issues, related to eliminating the consequences of mudslide in Batken Oblast's Isfana town and prevention of emergency situations on the ground.
Emergency Minister of the republic Zamirbek Askarov informed that heavy rainfall caused mud flows in Isfana, resulting in flooding of administrative buildings and residential houses.
The operational group of the Ministry of Emergencies, headed by Deputy Emergency Minister Ravshan Rysbayev has moved to the site.
Currently, work is underway to eliminate the consequences of mud flows and to establish the amount of material damage caused, and the electricity supply has been restored.
PM Abylgaziev gave a number of instructions for the timely implementation of preventive protection measures in all potentially dangerous areas.
"It is necessary to eliminate the consequences of mudflow and implement a set of measures to prevent emergency situations as soon as possible. First of all, there is need to ensure the safety of people in areas where risks of emergency situations persist. It is important to increase public awareness of the need to insure housing. This will help to avoid problems in the reconstruction of houses affected by natural disasters," said Abylgaziev.
In Isfana town of Batken Oblast, on May 2 at about 6:30 p.m. hail had caused mudslide, which passed through several streets, where the streams came out of ditches and flooded 20 houses with a garden.
Also, a house in the village of Kara-Dyobyo has been flooded. No casualties were reported.
