Bishkek, Feb. 11, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Ulukbek Maripov held a meeting on the epidemiological situation in the country related to coronavirus infection, the press service of the Kyrgyz Government reported Thursday.
During the meeting, the issues of gradual resumption of work of general schools and kindergartens, preparations for mass vaccination of the population against COVID-19 on a voluntary basis were discussed.
The first batch of vaccines under the COVAX program may be delivered to the republic in March this year, the second part - in the second quarter.
In addition, the use of Russian and Chinese vaccines is being considered.
Ulukbek Maripov emphasized the importance of high-quality and prompt work on voluntary vaccination of the population, especially workers in the field of education and medicine.
"Cases of infection with new strains of the virus, already registered in neighboring countries as well cannot fail to be concerned. All medical institutions in the country must be fully prepared for a possible increase in cases. The level of supply of medicines and personal protective equipment must be constantly monitored, taking into account the possible worsening of the epidemiological situation. It is also necessary to increase the stock of necessary medicines," said the head of government.
The prime minister noted the importance of intensifying work on the digitalization of the health system.
As a result of the meeting a number of instructions were given to the Ministry of Health and Social Development, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
