Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov met Saturday with a delegation, led by Vyacheslav Smolensky, the Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor), the press service of the Kyrgyz Government said.
"I would like to thank the Russian side for humanitarian and consulting assistance. We attach importance to cooperation with the Russian Federation, where positive results in the fight against coronavirus infection are observed. The number of those infected is decreasing. Our medical workers are also making every effort to eradicate the disease. The experience that Russian specialists have gained will be extremely useful to us," Boronov said.
In turn, Deputy Head of Rospotrebnadzor Vyacheslav Smolensky said the Russian side is always ready to help in common challenges.
"We have specially arrived in the republic to share our experience, to consult our colleagues on a number of issues. In two days, about 100 Kyrgyz specialists received consultations on infection monitoring, organization of treatment processes and laboratory work.
I would like to emphasize the professionalism and high dedication of medical staff, who make every effort to save the patients. If necessary, we are ready to expand the range of support provided," he said.
Kubatbek Boronov noted the timeliness of the assistance provided by the Russian specialists, and expressed confidence that by joint efforts the coronavirus infection would be defeated.
The visit of Rospotrebnadzor specialists resulted from agreements reached between Kyrgyz and Russian leaders.
