Bishkek, July 23, 2024 . / Kabar / . Kyrgyz poets Nuriza Omurbaeva and Gulzada Stanalieva took part in the 25th Poetry Festival in Berlin on July 20-21.
The Kyrgyz Embassy in Germany reported that this festival is held every year with the participation of poets from different countries.
Poems by Kyrgyz poets were translated from Kyrgyz into German and published in a book as part of a project funded by the Goethe Institute. This collection also includes poems by poets from other Central Asian countries.
At a meeting with Kyrgyz poets Nuriza Omurbaeva, Gulzada Stanalieva and Aigul Adisova, one of the translators who translated their poems into German, Ambassador Omurbek Tekebayev noted the importance of familiarizing German readers with Kyrgyz poetry and the need to continue such projects in the future.
As part of this project, works of German poets were translated into Kyrgyz and languages of Central Asian countries, contributing to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the states.
