Kyrgyz President about cultural facilities to be renovated in near future

Bishkek, Dec.25, 2019. /Kabar/. Funds will be allocated to repair the Gapar Aitiev Museum of Fine Arts and Drama Theater named after Babur, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov stressed at the press conference.

He noted support is being provided to the cultural sphere. Three theatrical institutions with the status of national have been reconstructed, where repair work has not been carried out since Soviet times. The National Philharmonic, the Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Osh Drama Theatre have been overhauled.

"I am well aware of the problems of cultural objects. Today repair work is carried out at the Kyrgyz Drama Theatre. Soon, the Russian Drama Theatre will also be renovated. In the coming years, funds will be allocated to repair the Gapar Aitiyev Museum of Fine Arts (located in Bishkek) and the Babur Theatre (in Osh)," he said.

The Kyrgyz President’s press conference is taking place at the Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek.

A total of 188 journalists have been accredited for the event.

Of these, 160 journalists are from 77 national media and 28 journalists - from 15 foreign media, accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Note that this is the second press conference of Sooronbay Jeenbekov as the President.
