Kyrgyz president about results of his recent visits to Russia and Hungary

Bishkek, Oct. 4, 2020. /Kabar/. Yesterday, Oct. 3 in a regular interview with the state radio President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov told about results of his recent visits to Russia and Hungary.

The head of state noted that both visits proved to be useful and fruitful, and expressed confidence that their practical results would not be long awaited.

As it is known, the first working visit of the Kyrgyz president was to Russia.

"Russia is our closest, most reliable ally and strategic partner. We actively cooperate with Russia in all areas of cooperation, and Russia also has a similar approach and actively works with us in all areas of mutually beneficial relations. In Sochi, Vladimir Vladimirovich and I had a thorough conversation on many topical cooperation issues. The Russian president has always supported and supports all the issues we raise. He has a very warm attitude to our country and to the people of Kyrgyzstan. We had a good, detailed conversation on many aspects of cooperation," Sooronbay Jeenbekov said.

Further, President Jeenbekov paid an official visit to Hungary, where he held fruitful meetings and negotiations with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, president and speaker of the National Assembly.

The Kyrgyz leader noted the reached understanding on many issues.

Regarding education, the number of budget places for Kyrgyz students was increased from 75 to 150.

Secondly, it was decided to establish a Kyrgyz-Hungarian Investment Fund with a charter capital of USD 50 million, which is about KGS 4 billion.

"We agreed to use these funds to create joint ventures through which we can invest in the economy, processing industry, construction of industrial enterprises, and most importantly - in the export of our products. We are glad that our entrepreneurs have the opportunity to enter the EU markets through Hungary. There are advanced technologies in Europe, which are also used in Hungary. We could use them in various industries," Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted.

Thirdly, decision was made to open a direct Budapest-Bishkek flight to strengthen ties between the brotherly nations.

The opening of a branch of the Bank of Hungary was also discussed.

The Hungarian side expressed interest in cooperation with the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations on reclamation of uranium waste.

"There is a good opportunity to attract investments and technologies in all spheres from Europe through Hungary, as well as to bring the produced products to foreign markets. They themselves are also interested in cooperation in this area, as there are large markets close to us. The People's Republic of China is next to us, and we are also in the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union). The most important thing is that Prime Minister Orbán and I have signed a Declaration on Strategic Partnership," Jeenbekov stressed.

He also noted that the Hungarian people deeply respect works of the world famous writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.

The president added that Aitmatov's name was given to one of the squares of Budapest.
