Bishkek, March 29, 2020 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, the president’s press service said.
Measures to prevent the further spread of coronavirus infection in the country and anti-crisis plans of the Government to minimize the negative economic consequences were discussed. The need was noted for the speedy adoption of a comprehensive plan of anti-crisis measures.
The head of state emphasized that in this situation, priority attention should be paid to ensuring food security, balancing the macroeconomic situation and supporting entrepreneurship.
He called for special attention to the delivery of essential goods for the population in the territories where a state of emergency was introduced.
Moreover, he noted the necessity to pay special attention to the provision of targeted assistance to socially vulnerable segments of the population.
The president also emphasized the importance of providing maximum support to medical workers and providing them with all necessary means.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that the republican headquarters should strengthen coordination of all involved structures, timely respond to requests from citizens, doctors and other involved persons in cooperation with local commandant's offices.
Abylgaziev emphasized that the government is taking comprehensive measures to reduce the negative impact of the spread of coronavirus infection on the country's economy.
He spoke in detail about work to support small and medium-sized businesses, and the implementation of other anti-crisis measures.
He also said that it was decided to allocate additional material payments to medical workers involved in the fight against coronavirus infection.
