Kyrgyz president announces necessity to reform country's armed forces

Bishkek, May 5, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov announced the need to reform the country's armed forces.

During his address to the nation, the head of state noted that serious changes in the armed forces include two main directions.

In particular, it is necessary to organize the army according to the principle of special units, fully trained and technologically equipped to conduct military operations in mountainous conditions.

“On the other hand, we will move on to the creation of voluntary citizen patrolmen. This system provides a high level of mobilization readiness of the population living in the border areas, the ability to concentrate significant forces against military threats and attacks,” the head of state said.
