Kyrgyz president attends opening of Games of Future in Kazan

Bishkek, Feb. 22, 2024. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov yesterday, as part of a working visit to the Russian Federation, took part in the opening ceremony of the international multi-sport tournament Games of the Future in the city of Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan).

The ceremony was opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The event was also attended by the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The heads of state greeted the players from their countries in their native languages, wishing them success in the competition.

After the opening ceremony, Sadyr Zhaparov, together with other heads of state, inspected the installations of the Games of the Future and art objects in the new Digital Sport disciplines, and also visited the competition halls in the Dota-2 and physical football disciplines, where he observed the teams’ training and games.

The Games of the Future is a high-tech sports show that includes hybrid sports competitions in classic sports and their digital analogues.

The games are held from February 21 to March 3, 2024. More than 270 teams and more than 2,000 athletes from 107 countries take part in the tournament. The competition program includes 21 disciplines, which are divided into 5 challenges: sports, tactics, strategy, technology and speed. All disciplines support the concept of phygital - they combine classical sports, e-sports and technology.

Five people from Kyrgyzstan are participating in the Future Games. Cybersportsmen Amanbek Yunusali and Viktor Kotlyarevkiy, representing the HYDRA team, take part in the Dota2 game. Representative of One move - Kyyalbek Tayirov is also participating in this game. Two more domestic athletes - Mirbek Bakirov and Arsen Kasymov - compete in sports programming.
