Bishkek, March 13, 2022 . / Kabar / . After launching the Zhashyl Muras (Green Heritage) national campaign, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov spoke with UNDP Resident Representative in Kyrgyzstan Louise Chamberlain and Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek Alexey Rogov.
Louise Chamberlain noted that Sadyr Zhaparov's speech at the World Leaders Summit at the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow was very important.
She stressed that Kyrgyzstan's implementation of renewable energy projects will have a positive impact on solving the issue of unemployment in the country. Chamberlain added that UNDP supports these initiatives of the republic.
Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek Alexey Rogov expressed support for Kyrgyzstan's work on climate protection and the Green Heritage national campaign.
The president of Kyrgyzstan thanked representatives of the international organizations for their participation and support of the national campaign.
Sadyr Japarov also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has already started implementing projects to build mini hydropower plants.
He noted that at the moment the country is using only a small part of its capacities. This year, the state plans to pay special attention to the construction of hydroelectric power plants, start construction of Kambarata HPP, which will not only save water, but also export electricity.
The meeting was also attended by Dinara Kutmanova, the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Almaz Isanov, head of the Political and Economic Research Department of the Presidential Administration.
