Kyrgyz president discusses with PM current epidemiological situation in country

Bishkek, July 20, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, July 20 President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov discussed with Prime Minister of the country Kubatbek Boronov the current epidemiological situation in the country and measures taken to stabilize it.

According to the Kyrgyz president’s press service, in the course of an online meeting, PM Boronov stressed the Government continues work on normalization of the situation. Preparations have begun for the construction of 100-bed infectious disease hospitals in the cities of Bishkek and Osh.

He added the Government is taking measures to address the shortage of medicines. A batch of heparin (blood thinner drug) has arrived from Uzbekistan, deliveries of various names of medicines from China are expected in the near future, talks with Indian and Iranian pharmaceutical factories are underway.

Also, taking into account the recommendations made by leading medical specialists of the country during a recent meeting with President Jeenbekov, the algorithms and protocols of treatment have been supplemented.

The president noted the need to strengthen control over the provision of hospitals and observation zones with medicines and medical devices.

He also drew attention to the issue of the provision of regions’ residents. In this regard, Jeenbekov highlighted the need to work out the supply of medicines taking into account remote mountainous regions.

The Kyrgyz leader supported the Government's initiative to build hospitals in Bishkek and Osh out of quick-construction facilities. He added the Bishkek Mayor's Office is also working on building a multi-profile hospital in the capital involving investors.

He drew attention to the strengthening of disinfection measures in public places, streets of cities and regions.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov also recalled that during a recent visit to the Textile Trans LLC textile factory in Chui Oblast, it turned out that due to the failure of the relevant state bodies to issue certificates, the factory could not fully launch the production of medical masks. The head of state called on to assist the enterprise in resolving the issues, given their social orientation in the current situation.

The prime minister said the Government has already started working on this matter.

President Jeenbekov holds weekly online meetings with PM Boronov on the current epidemiological situation in the country.
