Bishkek, Dec.17, 2019. /Kabar/. Today, Dec. 17 within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Bandar Al Hajjar.
The current state and prospects of bilateral economic and investment cooperation were discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz President said Tuesday.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov expressed gratitude for assistance in implementing projects in transport, clean water supply and health care.
He proposed to develop a draft of a separate document on the Strategic Partnership between IsDB and Kyrgyzstan.
The Kyrgyz President drew the Bank’s attention to infrastructure projects within the framework of the state policy of regional development, in particular on clean water, construction of irrigation systems, transport and energy.
The IsDB president expressed confidence that the official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Saudi Arabia will give a new impetus to cooperation and yield good results.
He noted Saudi Arabia has the largest share of capital in the IsDB structure, emphasizing that the Bank's relations with Kyrgyzstan have always been positive.
The president of the Islamic Development Bank expressed readiness and interest in their development.
Bandar Al Hajjar stressed that at the moment there are a number of joint projects under consideration, the implementation of which will be discussed with the Kyrgyz side.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov is in Saudi Arabia for official visit at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Kyrgyz President is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Chingiz Aidarbekov, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the President's Office Daniyar Sydykov, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the President's Office Almaz Kenenbayev, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Saudi Arabia Abdilatif Jumabayev, deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, Minister of Finance Baktygul Jeenbayeva, Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Isakov, Minister of Emergency Situations Nurbolot Mirzakhmedov, Minister of Economy Sanjar Mukanbetov and Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation Erkinbek Choduyev.
