Bishkek, Mar.11, 2020 /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov is holding meeting with residents of Leilek and Suluykta regions of Batken Oblast, his press service said.
The meeting is taking place as part of the President’s two-day working trip to Batken Oblast.
President Jeenbekov stressed that issues of Batken Oblast and border Leilek district in particular occupy a special place in his presidential activities. The state pays special attention to the social and economic development of the region.
He told local residents about the main directions of implementing the state policy of regional development. In particular, he spoke in detail about measures to improve the investment climate in the country, support local business, agricultural producers, automation of tax and customs authorities, expanding domestic export potential.
Besides, the Kyrgyz leader talked about measures to address border issues, increase border security, implementation of irrigation projects, projects to provide clean drinking water to the population, energy, healthcare, education projects , etc.
At the same time, elaborated on goals and objectives of the decree declaring 2020 the Year of Regional Development, Digitalization of the Country and Support for Children, measures to implement judicial and legal reform, fight corruption, reform of law-enforcement bodies, improvement of combat efficiency of the Armed Forces, as well as the main directions of the country's foreign policy.
Jeenbekov also touched upon the projects being implemented in all regions in the framework of the country's digitalization.
The meeting is continuing in the question and answer format.
On the first day of his working trip, President Jeenbekov visited agricultural objects in Batken Oblast.
In particular, the Kyrgyz leader familiarized himself with the projects on construction of a logistics center, a dairy processing plant, a glass plant, a reinforced concrete plant and a slaughterhouse in Batken town.
He also got acquainted with activity of Batken Zonal Veterinary Laboratory, construction of which was launched in 2016.
