Bishkek, Mar. 14, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has identified priorities for the work of the ambassadors of the republic in neighboring countries. He announced them today at a meeting with the heads of the Kyrgyz institutions abroad.
First of all, the president pointed out that by Kyrgyzstan has strengthened cooperation with its closest neighbors and it is important to preserve the strength of the agreements reached.
“I have visited all neighboring countries. With Nursultan Nazarbayev, we resolved cross-border, trade and other issues. Currently, issues on water resources, veterinary medicine and phytosanitary are being discussed with Kazakhstan. Fruitful negotiations were held with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Emomali Rahmon, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. We have a personal relationship of trust. The main task is to complete the process of delimiting the state border with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan,” the president said.
In addition, he noted the importance of strengthening trade and economic cooperation and conducting work to increase the share of exports of Kyrgyzstan in trade.
“For us, it is important to use the opportunities of Turkmenistan in the fuel-energy and investment spheres. We have to step up work on the construction of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Kyrgyzstan-China. We do not fully use the opportunities of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen intergovernmental commission. The government should launch this mechanism,” Jeenbekov said.
He instructed ambassadors of the Kyrgyz Republic in the countries of Central Asia to conduct continuous work to ensure regional security, interstate transit and integrated use of water and energy resources.
