Bishkek, March 24, 2021 . / Kabar / . In 2021, a total of 1,378 files on the pardon of convicts were considered, of which 245 convicts were pardoned, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s State Service for Punishments Executions said on Wednesday.
Of them, 89 people were released, and the outstanding terms were reduced in respect of 156 people.
Applications for pardoning convicts are sent to the Secretariat for Pardons under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. Pardon applications with regard to 1,133 convicted persons were rejected on the basis of the Presidential Decree of Feb. 18, 2021.
In 2020, a total of 530 materials were considered, of which 268 convicts were pardoned in accordance with the Decree of the Acting President of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Pardoning Convicts" (of whom 230 were released, and the unexpired term in respect of 38 persons were reduced).
A total of 1378 materials were considered since the beginning of this year, of which 245 convicts were pardoned in accordance with the Presidential Decree "On Pardoning Convicts" , 89 were released and 156 persons had their sentences reduced.
