Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2024. /Kabar/. As part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the Investment Dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Korea held in Seoul.
In his speech Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of the Republic of Korea, as well as all partners who contributed to the organization of this important event, his press service reported.
The Kyrgyz leader reported on the results of the talks with President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, during which the parties established a Comprehensive Partnership and outlined plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Sadyr Zhaparov spoke in detail about the ongoing reforms in Kyrgyzstan aimed at modernizing public administration, creating a favorable investment climate and digitalization.
He emphasized that economic reforms have already brought tangible results: over the past three years, the country's GDP growth has averaged 9% annually, and in 2024 - 9.6%. The state budget has almost tripled and GDP per capita has doubled.
The president also focused on major investment projects being implemented in Kyrgyzstan, such as the construction of Kambarata HPP-1, the launch of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power plants, and the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad.
The Kyrgyz leader invited Korean companies to participate in these strategic projects, noting that the introduction of Korean technologies will open new prospects for bilateral cooperation.
During the event, the participants were presented with a video clip and a presentation on investment opportunities of Kyrgyzstan. Then the businessmen addressed questions to the members of the Kyrgyz delegation, followed by a ceremony of exchange of bilateral documents.
At the end of the forum, President Sadyr Zhaparov invited representatives of Korean business to visit Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the country's openness for international cooperation and new opportunities for investors.
