In an interview with the state radio on Saturday President Jeenbekov stressed that the main purpose of the recent visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Bishkek was -China confirmed its readiness to take our bilateral strategic partnership to a new level.
“He conveyed the greetings of Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, and read out his message. In his message, Mr. Xi Jinping expressed political support in the current post-pandemic situation and expressed his readiness to further develop trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. As you know, there is a Belt and Road platform. He reaffirmed that, within the framework of this policy, the previously started projects will be continued and we will be supported in solving the problems associated with the pandemic. I believe that this is very good support for us in the current situation,” Jeenbekov said.
The President also noted that the issue of attracting investment to the domestic economy was also discussed during the visit.
“You know, China is a big market for us. China is a very big partner for us in trade and economic relations, in the export of our agricultural products. They are interested in our organic products. We have expressed our intention to strengthen this direction. This intention was also supported by Foreign Minister Wang Yi,” the head of state stressed.
In general, he noted that Minister Wang Yi came to express readiness on behalf of Xi Jinping to further develop bilateral relations.
