Kyrgyz president receives CSTO secretary general

Bishkek, Sept. 12, 2024. / Kabar/. On September 11, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received visiting Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov.

An exchange of views took place on issues of ensuring regional security and stability, as well as interaction within the Organization.

The head of state noted with satisfaction the successful completion of the command and staff exercises with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces "Interaction-2024" in Kyrgyzstan, which were observed by Imangali Tasmagambetov.

In this context, Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of this event for improving interaction in the military-political sphere. He also added that during the exercises, joint actions to strengthen security and defense capability were successfully worked out, and various scenarios were tested.

In addition, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the state bodies of Kyrgyzstan are currently developing priorities for the country's chairmanship of the CSTO in 2025, taking into account all relevant factors and the significance of the proposed issues.

CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, in turn, thanked the leadership of Kyrgyzstan for the high-quality preparation and holding of these important events.

He informed President Sadyr Zhaparov that the exercises demonstrated an increased level of readiness of the Organization's Collective Forces to respond to any challenges and threats to the collective and national security of our states.
