Bishkek, March 12, 2024. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today received a delegation from İnönü University in Malatya, (Republic of Turkey) led by rector, professor, academician Ahmet Kızılay.
The prospects for the development of human organ transplantation services, the introduction of high-tech treatment in healthcare organizations, as well as the adoption of a set of measures aimed at reducing mortality in Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
During the meeting, the head of state noted that citizens of Kyrgyzstan are forced to travel abroad to receive transplantation services, since the republic has no experience in human organ transplantation.
At the same time, the president emphasized, despite various financial difficulties, the country’s healthcare system has highly qualified personnel who strive to comply with the development of world science in the field of transplantation.
Sadyr Zhaparov recalled that this year, on his instructions, 50 of our citizens will undergo kidney transplantation at the expense of the country’s budget. About 7 thousand US dollars will be allocated for each operation. The next step is to provide liver transplants to patients in need. To achieve this goal, a study will be conducted on the problems of human organ transplantation in the country, and the experience of foreign countries in the field of organizing transplantation centers will be studied.
The head of state is confident that the introduction of scientific, methodological, legal and organizational methods of organ transplantation into the country’s medical practice will make it possible to create a model of the main coordination center for liver transplantation in Kyrgyzstan. Thanks to this, the transplantation service will develop in the republic, which have a positive impact on reducing the mortality rate in Kyrgyzstan.
Ahmet Kızılay, in turn, expressing gratitude to Sadyr Zhaparov for the warm welcome, informed that a delegation from İnönü University arrived in Kyrgyzstan on behalf of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to exchange best practices in the development of organ transplantation services.
He said that the medical center, named after former Turkish President Turgut Ozal at İnönü University, is one of the leading organ transplant clinics. To date, the center’s specialists have performed more than 3,700 successful operations over 22 years.
The rector noted that 65 medical specialists in liver transplantation, who are already working in the country’s healthcare system, were successfully trained at the medical center from Kyrgyzstan. In addition, 33 Kyrgyz specialists are currently improving their skills at the Center.
In conclusion, he noted that İnönü University is ready to provide all possible assistance and assistance in creating the main coordination center for liver transplantation in Kyrgyzstan.
