Bishkek, July 6, 2020 / Kabar /. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov recommended the possibility of suspension of transport links between regions.
At a meeting of the Security Council in a narrow composition with the participation of heads of state bodies, governors in the regions, city mayors, and local authorities, the President said that there are those who propose the introduction of a more strict quarantine regime. “Depending on the situation, the republican headquarters should make proposals. In the current situation, we propose to consider the possibility of suspending transport links between the regions,” He said.
The meeting was held in the form of a video conference, the president’s press service said.
“When public health and economic security were put on the scale, we quarantined and patiently complied with the state of emergency. After the removal of this regime, the incidence increased sharply, and many of our citizens suffer from pneumonia as a result of the coronavirus,” Jeenbekov emphasized and recalled that due to the increase in the incidence rate, a number of restrictions were again introduced in Bishkek.
The head of state also recalled that he had previously made proposals to ban the festivities and urged the republican headquarters to indicate their clear position on this issue.
“At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, I asked to officially ban various mass celebrations. I think that it will be right for the republican headquarters to make a separate official decision on this issue,” Jeenbekov noted.
The head of state drew attention to the importance of increasing the number of beds in all hospitals and observation zones. He added that, if necessary, it is necessary to create additional places for patients to provide primary medical care.
The President reiterated that all activities in the framework of the fight against coronavirus infection should be financed in a timely manner and in priority order.
