Kyrgyz President: Sacred duty of each of us is to protect independence and unity of people

Bishkek, Aug. 31, 2020 / Kabar /. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov congratulated the Kyrgyz people on the Independence Day, the president's press service said.

Congratulating on the 29th anniversary of Independence President Jeenbekov said that it is great day for the country.

“Independence is our most sacred value and highest pride,” he stressed in his congratulation.

“During the years of independence, we have all gone through great trials,” Jeenbekov said adding that the country has experienced historical events that have attracted the attention of the world community.

The president thanked God that Kyrgyzstan is recognized by the world community as an independent state.

President Jeenbekov stressed that this year Kyrgyzstan is celebrating the 29th anniversary of independence during a global pandemic and due to circumstances, the planned solemn events did not take place.

He also added that the pandemic that has hit the whole world has become a great test for the country.

“In such severe test our people showed their solidarity, their unity. We will be united by our common goals, caring for our children - for the future of the country. We will strengthen the independence of our country, where happy, healthy and educated children will grow up,” President Jeenbekov said.

He also emphasized that Kyrgyzstan’s multinational people have an ancient common history and a common future.

“The unity of society, interethnic solidarity is and will be our main value. For us, both stability within the country and peace in the world are important,” Jeenbekov said.

He also stressed that Kyrgyzstan will develop good-neighborly relations with the countries of the region, strengthen cooperation with allies and partners, including in the CIS, SCO, EurAsEC and CSTO, deepen diplomatic relations with both Western and Eastern countries.

“As the descendants of a people who have cherished freedom for centuries - the sacred duty of each of us is to defend and strengthen our independence!," President Jeenbekov concluded his congratulation wishing harmony and tranquility on Kyrgyz land.
