Bishkek, May 5, 2022 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov wrote a post on Facebook about the situation in a number of areas where mudflows and landslides have occurred.
"There was a natural disaster,” he wrote enumerating how many people were evacuated from the place of the accident.
The president said that local authorities, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Defense are fully involved.
“God willing, we will soon restore all the damaged houses," the head of state wrote.
In total, 835 houses are flooded in southern Kyrgyzstan due to heavy rains on May 3-4.
According to data of the Emergencies Ministry of the country, 606 houses and 10 social objects were flooded in Barpy and Atabekov villages of Suzak region in Jalal-Abad Oblast and 229 houses in Alai region of Osh Oblast.
Over 1000 people are evacuated in Suzak region.
