Bishkek, Oct.7, 2019. /Kabar/. President Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq al-Ghanim.
The Kyrgyz President’s press service said that the sides discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation, including inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Jeenbekov stressed the deepening of bilateral cooperation with Kuwait is one of the priority areas of the country's foreign policy and expressed readiness to develop joint cooperation.
The Kyrgyz leader stressed the importance of development of trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kuwait, and expressed gratitude to the leadership of Kuwait for their assistance in implementing social and economic and humanitarian projects in Kyrgyzstan.
He praised the activities of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in the implementation of strategic infrastructure projects and charitable activities of the As-Salam, As-Safa and Assanabil foundations, noting with satisfaction the opening of a social camp for 106 low-income families in Batken Oblast and 100 low-income families in Kemin region with the assistance of the Kuwaiti side.
Marzouq al-Ghanim expressed gratitude to Jeenbekov for the meeting, noting the progressive development of bilateral relations in recent years.
The speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly stressed with satisfaction the active inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries, and expressed readiness for further fruitful cooperation, attraction of investments to Kyrgyzstan in order to implement joint projects in social and humanitarian, trade-economic and other spheres.
