Bishkek, July 18, 2020. /Kabar/. "There is a state material reserve, where medicines used to be stored, but then everything was suspended. We have resolved this issue, and the Government is working to create a stockpile of 65 names of essential medicines," Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said Saturday in an interview with Birinci Radio station of the Public Broadcasting Corporation.

"I said that anyone who wants to make a personal profit in such a difficult time for our people is considered enemies of the people. We are talking about not only suppliers of medicines, but also entrepreneurs in general, every citizen of the country. This matter is under my personal control, under the control of prime minister. The relevant state bodies are carrying out control measures, we are working hard in this direction," Jeenbekov emphasized, answering the question of controlling the market of medicines and providing the population with drugs.

At the same time, the Kyrgyz leader noted the need to support entrepreneurs who work in the pharmaceutical industry, build factories, produce medicines and medical products.

"I've discussed with prime minister issue of channeling funds to support this direction - funds from the National Bank, the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund, as well as funds from abroad. There is a lot of work to be done on the import of a large number of drugs and import substitution," the President emphasized.
