Bishkek, Oct 4, 2017 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev will visit Uzbekistan on Oct. 5-6, 2017 for the state visit, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the President's Office Aizada Subakozhoeva told journalists in Bishkek.
She said that the visit will be an important continuation of the close and intensive political dialogue that has been outlined lately.
"Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to hold talks in narrow and expanded formats, where the issues of bilateral cooperation will be discussed. Particular attention will be paid to the development of trade and economic cooperation and cross-border cooperation. The sides are considering the launch of a number of projects in the field of processing industry, textile production and the creation of logical centers, taking into account the membership of Kyrgyzstan in the Eurasian Economic Union and the preference of the GSP + status," she said.
Within the framework of the visit, it is also planned to hold a business forum entitled "Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan: partnership in the framework of globalization". About 250 large businessmen and the exhibition of the goods made in territory of Kyrgyzstan will be presented there.
"Signing of specific contracts and agreements between economic entities of the two countries is expecting in the framework of the business forum. The issues in the field of transport and energy will also be considered. Speaking about transport, we are talking about the establishment of transit traffic with the participation of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In addition, resuming bus routes between the two countries and increase the number of flights is also important. In the energy sector, the export of electricity from the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan and the construction of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 will be considered," she added.
Subakozhoeva said that as a whole, following the results of the September meeting of the two presidents in Bishkek, there are concrete progress on many issues.
Aizada Subakozhoeva said that during the visit of the Kyrgyz President to Uzbekistan a protocol on the exchange of ratification instruments and the agreement on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border is planned. In addition, a Declaration on strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness and trust between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will be signed at the level of the heads of state. In total, about 15 documents will be signed, she said.
