Bishkek, March 5, 2021 . / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov called on the country's judges to work honestly and impartially.

The event in honor of Judiciary Employee Day of Kyrgyzstan took place on Friday at the Ala-Archa state residence.

"From today, I myself will protect you and guarantee your independence. You just need to show courage and willpower and firmly resist any pressure," the head of state said addressing the judicial corps.

Sadyr Zhaparov gave his personal guarantees that from now on no one from the power structures would give any instructions to the judges.

“However, demands on you will also be stepped up. I warn each of you that you will be held personally responsible for any illegal decision. Let's all work together to restore the respect and dignity of judges and the judicial system," urged the president.

Zhaparov noted the need to change the process of selection of judges, adhering to the principle that a candidate for a judicial position should have a high level of competence and qualification in law and justice.

The Kyrgyz leader added the material and technical support of the judicial system would be improved, judges' salaries would significantly increase, social guarantees would be provided to them, digitalization would be introduced, and other positive changes would be made.
