Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2023 / Kabar /. The working visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to Paris (French Republic), which took place on November 9-10, has ended, his press service reported.
On the first day of the visit, Sadyr Zhaparov and his wife Aigul Zhaparova took part in a reception at the Elysee Palace on behalf of French President Emmanuel Macron for heads of state and first ladies.
On the second day of the visit, the head of met with the Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, where he confirmed Kyrgyzstan’s readiness to continue to be active in UNESCO’s mandated areas and make its contribution to the development and promotion of the Organization’s values.
Sadyr Zhaparov also delivered a speech at the 42nd session of the UNESCO General Conference and invited all participants to take an active part and make their specific commitments for the conservation of mountain ecosystems.
Later, the head of state met with vice president of Total Energies Renewables, Fabienne Demol, representing a large oil and gas company with operations in more than 130 countries.
Inviting to productive cooperation, Sadyr Zhaparov proposed opening a branch of the Total Energies company in Kyrgyzstan.
The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the company “TotalEnergies Renewables SA” also took place here.
Further, speaking at the One Planet Polar Summit, he called for joint efforts to find ways to preserve glaciers and cooperate in protecting the zone where water resources form.
In the afternoon, Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the first Kyrgyz-French business forum, where entrepreneurs from more than 50 companies from the two countries took part.
After which the president met with Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of EDF, Luc Remon, and called on the company to jointly build a hydroelectric power station on the Chatkal River and strengthen work in this direction.
In addition, during the visit, Sadyr Zhaparov held negotiations with French President Emmanuel Macron.
During the conversation, the leaders expressed their readiness to build up bilateral relations and bring them to the level of partnership.
Having completed his visit, Sadyr Zhaparov flew to Saudi Arabia to participate in the extraordinary Islamic Summit of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
