Tashkent, Nov. 2, 2019. / Kabar /. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev met with Iran’s First Vice President Eskhak Jahangiri.
A bilateral meeting was held in Tashkent immediately after the end of the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
During the meeting, topical issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Iran were discussed taking into account the cultural and historical proximity of the peoples of the two countries, as well as the existing potential of Kyrgyz-Iranian relations.
Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev and Eskhak Jahangiri expressed mutual interest in deepening cooperation in areas of cooperation of mutual interest.
In particular, they discussed prospects for increasing the supply of agricultural and livestock products from Kyrgyzstan to Iran, issues of cooperation in the oil and gas, transport and logistics, tourism sectors, as well as in the field of civil aviation.
Jahangiri expressed his desire and readiness to make every effort in order to give impetus to the development of bilateral relations and to bring trade and economic cooperation between countries to a new level, in the first place.
According to him, these goals are of particular importance given the preferential regime granted to Iran by the Eurasian Economic Union. He also requested to consider visa facilitation between countries.
Representatives of the two countries instructed the leaders of the relevant state bodies to intensify their joint work and to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in the near future to elaborate on issues of cooperation between the countries in priority areas.
