Tashkent, Apr. 10, 2019 / Kabar /. The three-day 15th forum on procurement, professional ethics, management and openness (PRIMO) has begun its work today in the capital of Uzbekistan, the Kabar correspondent reports from Tashkent.
Kyrgyzstan is represented by Mirbek Duisheev, Deputy Director of the Public Procurement Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Edil Kudaibergenov, Head of the Analytical and Innovative Sector of the Public Procurement Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to Cyril Muller, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, this forum is a successful platform for sharing international experience in public procurement and developing the expert community in the Europe and Central Asia region.
“The World Bank will continue to assist these states in their efforts to create effective national procurement systems,” he said.
The focus of the participants will be to stimulate regional and global cooperation and strengthen relations in the field of public procurement, as well as improving the contract management system with a view to the effectiveness of public investment projects.
More than 100 participants take part in the PRIMO forum, including high-ranking officials responsible for public procurement from more than 20 countries in the Europe and Central Asia region, as well as experts from the WB, EBRD, IDB, ADB, EIB, OECD, WTO, UNCITRAL, etc. .
This afternoon and tomorrow, representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic are expected to join.
The event will last until April 13.
