Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2023 / Kabar/. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan continue search and rescue operations in Turkiye.
Rescuers pulled out 4 live people (a pregnant girl, a 7-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and a man) and 104 bodies from the rubble in one week period.
Earlier, 67 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic were sent to the city of Kahramanmarash.
Later, 80 rescuers, humanitarian aid, 78 yurts, 3 doctors and workers who will install yurts were sent on Sunday.
According to the latest data, the death toll in Turkiye amounted 29,605 people.
Last Monday’s magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes, centered in the Kahramanmaras province, affected more than 13 million people across 10 provinces, also including Adana, Adiyaman, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Sanliurfa.
Several countries in the region, including Syria and Lebanon, also felt the strong tremors that struck Turkiye in the space of less than 10 hours.
More than 233,000 search and rescue personnel are currently working in the field, according to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
