Kyrgyz rescuers search for Russian climber in Leilek Gorge

Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2024. /Kabar/. The search for the missing Russian climber began in Kyrgyzstan this morning, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The ministry said that on February 12, according to preliminary information, he climbed the Aksu peak at a height of 5350 meters in the Leilek Gorge. The last time he got in touch was on February 16, after which there was no news from him.

6 rescuers from the 3rd separate search and rescue squad of the city of Batken and 1 rescuer from the Leilek district rescue squad were sent to search for the missing person. 3 climbers from Russia also joined the search.
