Bishkek, Dec.13, 2019. /Kabar/. Thursday, Dec .12, Saint Petersburg, Russia hosted the bilateral meeting of First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan, Colonel Nurlan Kiresheyev and Valery Gerasimov, General, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the participants discussed topical issues of cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere, including the development of the United Regional Air Defense System.
They also analyzed the challenges and threats to military security in the regions of collective security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), held a constructive dialogue on the results of the “Battle Brotherhood 2019” joint operational and strategic exercise.
The sides also noted the interaction between the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan and Russia is successfully developing both bilaterally and within the CSTO, and formats of the Commonwealth of independent States (CIS) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Colonel Kiresheyev congratulated Valery Gerasimov on the last holiday, Heroes of the Fatherland Day of Russia.
Summing up the results of the meeting, he noted the Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international organizations is multifaceted and has high dynamics of development.
“The results of bilateral cooperation indicate a high level of strategic partnership. The Kyrgyz side, in turn, is ready for its further development and strengthening," he said.
