Bishkek, Dec.12, 2024. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz-Russian inter-ministerial consultations on countering new challenges and threats took place in Moscow Dec.11, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Kyrgyz part of the delegation, which included representatives of the Secretariat of the Security Council, the Defense Ministry, the State Committee for National Security, was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister Asein Isaev, and the Russian part - by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin.
During the consultations, the sides discussed regional security issues in the context of the situation in Afghanistan. The sides exchanged views on international terrorism, countering new challenges and threats both bilaterally and multilaterally within the CSTO, CIS, SCO and UN.
As a result of the meeting, the delegations of the two countries expressed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation in ensuring security, including through the existing channels of interaction between the relevant structures of the two countries.
